How You Can Help
Whatever your interest or financial ability, you'll find a giving opportunity
to suit you.
Scholarship Support: Make a difference in someone’s
life today. Help them complete their education without adding to their
financial burden. Scholarships never go out of style. Gifts in any dollar
amount are accepted; every gift is meaningful!
Count on Us Child Care Fund - This is a new annual
fund dedicated to supporting students who have child care expenses that
preclude them from attending college. Forty percent of UC students are
ineligible for traditional scholarship aid because they take fewer than
two courses, which is the federal mandate. Every semester 50 to 100
students drop out of class because their child care support network
can't meet their needs or they can't afford reliable child care. Dreams
needn't be deferred because parents are trapped in a cycle of low wages
and rising costs of child care. A grant of $1,000 will help offset
a student's child care needs. Every dollar helps.
UC Alumni Scholarship Fund – This fund is specifically
directed for scholarship support. It is used to assist those students
who have both academic merit and financial need. This fund is not endowed
and, as such, every dollar raised is directed to students each year.
Thursday Morning Roundtable: TMR promotes civic education
and involvement among leaders and concerned citizens for the betterment
of our community. TMR needs an annual sponsor to defray the ongoing
costs of meetings, communications, guest lecturer fees, and mailings.
UC supports all staff expense. Annual cost: $20,000.

Capital Needs and Naming Opportunities:
The ultimate gift to University College would be a gift to name the College.
This not only brings distinction to the donor, it brings needed resources
to the College. Whether expanding online classes or fulfilling promise
of the programs described above, developing innovative class formats like
MAYmester (compact courses completed over four weekends), or creating
new scholarship opportunities for our adult population, a naming gift
opens up possibilities. As the economic base shifts, as global uncertainties
grow, one thing remains constant – education becomes increasingly
valuable.
